French drummer Maxence Sibille was born in 1983 in Geneva, Switzerland. He began playing the drums at the age of ten. In 2003,
he was admitted to the École des Musiques Actuelles et des Technologies Musicales (ETM) in Grenoble, France, and graduated in 2006. That same year, he went on to study at the prestigious Haute École de Musique in Lausanne, Switzerland. He graduated with a master’s

degree in performance in 2012. While in college, he also studied at the Centre des Musiques Didier Lockwood (CMDL) under André Charlier, and regularly took classes with FranckAguhlon, Loïc Pontieux, and Simon Goubert.

Maxence has played with numerous artists ranging from jazz to hip-hop to rock, Swiss, French, and Danish musicians such as Erik Truffaz, Flavio Boltro, Didier Lockwood,
Glenn Ferris, Malcolm Braff, Matthieu Michel, Guillaume Perret, Jeff Baud, Patrice Moret, Banz Oester, Jonas, That Pork, Jean-Lou Treboux 5tet, Matthieu Llodra Trio, Trip.in, and the Kenneth Dahl Knudsen Group. He has performed at

Jazz à Vienne, the Koktebel Festival, Bern, Fribourg, the Cully Jazz Festival, the Montreux Jazz Festival, Verbier, Lugano, Jazz à Juan-les-Pins, the Paléo Festival in Nyon, Rock’Oz Arènes in Avenches, Festi’neuch, the Caprices Festival in Crans-Montana, the Festival des Puces de Saint-Ouen (Paris), the Festival de la Francophonie in China and in central Asia, Jazz in Fabrica in São Paulo, and B-Flat in Berlin.
